Corteva UK & IE is looking for a Marketing and Agronomy Manager to join our UK and Ireland Commercial Team.
The Marketing and Agronomy Manager is a key role to deliver the continued growth of our maize seed, oilseed rape seed and silage inoculant business. Key components of the role include running trial programmes such as Pioneer Accurate Crop Testing Trials, or PACTS Trials, to assess new and existing products. The analysis of markets to understand opportunities and marketing initiatives to drive sales and support agronomists and farmers to get the best results with our expanding product range. This role requires regular travel throughout the UK and Ireland as well as occasional travel with Europe.
Main Responsibilities:
Provision of leadership for the product portfolio - responsibility for testing, selecting and identifying products that meet local demands
Liaison with farmers, agronomists, officials, distributors and other influencers to understand customer needs, including the development of services, to support sales of our products
Detailed analysis of the relevant markets to position and price products effectively
Delivery of effective campaigns (including digital) and events to drive sales of our products and services
Creation of technical literature, presentations, and commercial materials to support product sales internally and externally
Location:
Homebased in the UK
Qualifications and other requirements:
Educated to a degree level or above in agriculture or related sciences
Proven agronomy background on seed, plant nutrition, soil science or plant physiology
Experience in all aspects of variety testing would be an advantage
Marketing qualifications preferred
BASIS qualified
IT skills
UK Driving Licence
Competencies & Skills:
A thorough knowledge of the varieties and production systems used for cultivation of maize and oilseed rape in the UK and Ireland
An excellent knowledge of livestock production systems utilising grass and maize silage
Experience of marketing activities including product selection, promotion, positioning and pricing
Excellent interpersonal skills
Good listener and interpreter of views from a wide range of inputs
Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
Analytical skills
Public speaking skills
Results and business oriented. Ability to work closely with customers and respond to their needs
Problem solving and adaptability
Ability to work as a team to achieve challenging targets
