We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical & Electrical) to join our company at our Litchfield, Illinois site!  Seed Quality facility.  

What You Will Do:

  • Support daily plant operations by ensuring equipment and systems are in optimal working condition.
  • Provide maintenance support for capital projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Assist in Process Safety Management (PSM) and overall safety initiatives at the facility.
  • Perform proactive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems as needed.
  • Ensure proper setup, calibration, and operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities; perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance, and repairs, including technical drawings and schematics.
  • Oversee the operation of company equipment, including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, to ensure smooth operation of both process and facility functions.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs and regularly inspect equipment, adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent

What Skills You Need:

  • Must be willing and able to complete all On-Boarding Training and certification within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions independently.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, including conveyors, gearboxes, chains, and similar equipment.
  • You are willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb and/or work in elevated areas, Stand, and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
  • You are comfortable with technology and possess good a computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company-specific applications as required  
  • You have a valid US Driver's License
  • You possess good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • You demonstrate integrity and promote a positive working environment by being an initiative-taker and willing to assist team members consistently
  • You uphold health and safety to the highest standard! You consistently help others and demonstrate adherence to safety protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure you and your colleagues go home safely every day
  • You understand that delivering to our customers on time keeps us viable and are willing and able to work a rotating shift and overtime hours, which include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Three (3) years of education and hands-on experience in Industrial Electromechanical Maintenance (HVAC, Millwright, Welding, Pneumatic Controls, Hydraulics, etc.).
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to repair and test related equipment.
  • Experience with or knowledge of electrical panels, electrical troubleshooting, and material handling equipment (e.g., conveyors, elevator legs, packaging machinery).
  • Forklift and truck driving experience is a plus.
  • General knowledge and/or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (plows, tractors, forklifts, etc.)

  • VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position
  • This position does NOT offer a comprehensive domestic relocation package
