The Laboratory Technician will support research and development activities focused on Disease Management and Insecticide and Nematicide. This role involves conducting laboratory and controlled-environment experiments to evaluate product efficacy, impact of different growth parameters, and application techniques. The technician will contribute to product characterization of our pipeline, resistance monitoring for INM and DM, and post-launch support, ensuring high-quality data generation and operational efficiency. This offers hands-on experience in laboratory and Glasshouse research, contributing to the development of innovative Crop Health products for these 2 disciplines.
Collaborate with the Research Scientists/Associate Scientists and assist the team to carry out laboratory and/or Glasshouse studies or methodology development, according to protocols while ensuring a safe working environment.
Communicate with Supervisor and Research Scientists/Associate Scientists
In autonomy, miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor and Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Operate plant production and maintain irrigation.
Maintain Phytopathogen collection, including but not limited to medium or substrate preparation, fungi, insect, nematode and bacteria multiplication, inventory, etc…
Review, update and/or write Standard Operating Procedures and maintain accurate records of experiments and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Assist with equipment/laboratory maintenance and cleaning
Maintain chemical inventory, an orderly pesticide storage room and safety stations.
Conduct literature reviews on fungal pathogens
Always ensure the proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and ensure product label directions are followed.
