The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) provides comprehensive occupational and preventative health services for employees, contractors, and visitors at the Valdosta Corteva site. OHN promotes and maintains employee wellness, prevents and manages work-related injuries and illnesses, and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies and guidelines.
The role is located in Valdosta, GA Operations site and provides Occupational Health support for the Seeds R&D facility in Cairo, GA.
The ideal candidate is an autonomous and skilled professional capable of delivering a wide range of clinical and administrative services.
Clinical Services:
Provide first-line care for work-related injuries and illnesses, including assessments and interventions.
Perform medical surveillances and fitness-for-duty evaluations for all employees.
Lead the on-site emergency medical response as part of the site's Emergency Response Program.
Collaborate with local medical providers to ensure continuity of care after a potential injury, illness, or exposure.
Assists in preparing patients for off-site transport during medical emergencies
Case Management:
Manage and document injury cases, including coordinating care for ill and injured workers.
Contribute to Medical Review Boards and provide health advice to leadership.
Oversee short-term and long-term disability claims.
Refer employees to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and other community resources.
Ensures compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines.
Health Promotion and Wellness:
Offer preventive health services, including counseling, health education, and training.
Manage and implement all on-site health and wellness programs (e.g., flu clinics, blood drives, and health challenges).
Record-keeping and Compliance:
Oversee and maintain adequate and confidential clinical documentation of all services provided, consistent with local law and medical practice.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other relevant health and safety standards.
Performs work site visits and maintains current knowledge of local hazards, toxicity of materials and relevant emergency medical care
Collaboration:
Act as a liaison with contracted health providers, facility leadership, and the Corporate Medical Department.
Work closely with safety officers and human resources administrators to address occupational health and safety issues.
Coordinates activities with Occupational Health, Safety, and Human Resources..
Take responsibility for the provision of IHS services at multiple Corteva locations
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience is desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience.
2-5 years of experience in an Occupational Health Nursing role is desirable.
Licensure and Certifications:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
Current CPR certification is required.
Skills:
Excellent clinical judgment and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage diverse responsibilities.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in maintaining electronic and paper medical records.
