Corteva Agriscience has an opportunity to join our team on Kaua'i, Hawai'i as a Horticulture Manager. This position supervises the seedling team at the Trait Integration shadehouses and is responsible for organizing and executing plantings, coordinating leaf-sampling for genotyping, and selecting top progeny. Applicants must have knowledge of plant biology and/or horticulture and be interested in working both indoors and in the field.

What You'll Do:
Manage the day-to-day activities in the Trait Integration shadehouse operation with a focus on seedlings. This includes organizing and supervising plantings, collecting data, coordinating with the sampling team, and selecting top-progeny.
Supervise full-time employees and contingent workers, ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with protocols and regulations.
Work collaboratively with other managers to meet the quality, quantity, and timeline targets.
Promote positive work attitudes and harmonious relations.
Willing and able to work flexible schedules and weekends during peak periods when required
Support all Hawaii Research center-wide goals and support other projects when needed
What Skills You Need:
Bachelor's degree or Certificate in biology, botany, plant breeding, agriculture, or related plant science field with two to four years related experience.
Minimum of four years related experience
Alternatively, equivalent levels of relevant education and experience
Ability to manage people as part of a larger, culturally diverse group
Plant biology, agronomy or horticulture
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understand and be able to apply Mendelian genetics
Organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to bend, reach, and lift repetitively. Occasionally required to carry 20-50 lbs
Tolerance, willingness, and ability to work in warm conditions and variable environments
Computer competency and experience with MS Office- Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Valid driver's license
