Corteva Agriscience has an opportunity to join our team on Kaua'i, Hawai'i as a Horticultural Manager. This position supervises the plant care team growing maize in shadehouses and is responsible for soil-media preparation, irrigation, plant nutrition, and pest management. Applicants must have knowledge of plant biology and/or horticulture, be able and willing to apply crop protection products, and be interested in working both indoors and in the field. What You'll Do:

• Manage day-to-day activities in the Trait Integration shadehouse operation with a focus on plant care. This includes executing on the Integrated Pest Management program collaboratively with the IPM supervisor, overseeing soil-media preparation, ensuring proper irrigation and nutrition of the plants, and coordinating minor repairs to shadehouses.

• Supervise full-time employees and contingent workers, ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with protocols and regulations.

• Work collaboratively with other managers to meet the quality, quantity, and timeline targets.

• Promote positive work attitudes and harmonious relations.

• Willing and able to work flexible schedules, holidays, and weekends during peak periods or when required.

• Support all Hawaii Research Center goals and support other projects when needed.

What Skills You Need:

• Bachelor's degree or Certificate in biology, botany, plant breeding, agriculture, or related plant science field with two to four years related experience.

• Alternatively, equivalent levels of relevant education and experience (High school diploma or associate's degree with 4+ years' experience will be considered).

• Ability to manage people as part of a larger, culturally diverse group.

• Plant biology, agronomy or horticulture

• Able and willing to serve as a Pesticide Handler.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

• Ability to bend, reach, and lift repetitively. Occasionally required to carry 20-50 lbs.

• Tolerance, willingness, and ability to work in warm conditions and variable environments.

• Computer competency and experience with MS Office- Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

• Valid driver's license.
