We have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Specialist to join our team in Arica, Chile!

The Finance Specialist will oversee and be responsible for cash flow monitoring, payment processing, preparation of reliable financial and forecasting reports and will provide support as the Finance Key Contact for the Arica Research Center. In addition, you will need to ensure efficient procurement processes to save costs and maximize profitability. Emphasizing compliance with the law and company policies for financial and sourcing processes.

 Responsibilities

-Ensure timely payment to suppliers and timely closing of capital items.

-Oversee year-end accrual process, centralization of electronic or physical bills of lading, reconciliation of employee corporate card accounts, monthly expense reclassifications, duplicate payments.

-Maintain an updated local listing of the Site's fixed assets, verifying annually.

-Assure of considered governmental, union and private payments such as SAG, INIA, Correos de Chile, Ministerio de Bienes Nacionales, among others.

-Tax contact; Income Tax Return, international service taxes, unaccounted documents, Income Tax Return (Chile).

-Evaluate areas of risk and financial opportunity.

-Propose corrective actions.

-Develop automated systems for tracking recurring payments.

-Global Environmental and Sustainability Management (GEST).

-Planning, coordinating and supervising purchasing and services needs and their execution.

-Develop cost reduction plans.

-Manage supplier relationships.

-Ensure that limited purchase orders (LPO) are updated annually in a timely manner.

-Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.

-Utilize sourcing strategies and industry knowledge.

-Support the Procurement team (Local Chile and Centering) in the search, evaluation and creation of new suppliers for program requirements, bidding of services, as well as in the financial evaluation of projects and purchase requirements through leasing or other commercial figure.

-Perform annual compliance evaluation of suppliers and contractors.

-Develop an annual budget according to the needs of each area with a focus on Part Time staffing, considering working hours versus estimated hours by programs and metrics.

-Create automated systems for budget tracking, allocations and purchase planning.

-Understanding and training staff on Research accounts.

-Stay in constant contact with SC finance group to improve the process as needed and aligned with business strategy.

-Keep Site updated of any changes in Procedure.

-Indirect supervision of temporary employees.

-Search for innovation tools to improve time and compliance in process and data reporting.

-Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.

-Maintain contact to align, resolve, request or update information serving as a focal point in Arica for CAPEX (Brazil), Centering (Mexico), donations (India) or corresponding group for any need.

Requirements

-Experience of more than 3 years in financing, payment and contract management processes.

-Professional with a degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. Postgraduate or Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) will be an asset.

-Organizational skills with attention to detail.

-Intermediate to advanced level of written and spoken English.

-Outstanding interpersonal skills, effective communication and teamwork.

-Proficient in MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).

-Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.

-Ability to strategize and problem solve

-Leadership skills

-Availability for 100% face-to-face work.
