Corteva Crop Solution R&D is seeking a Field Scientist (FS) to support the execution of field research programs for Crop Protection development in Hungary.
The primary purpose of this role is to conduct, manage, and deliver high quality field trials that generate reliable data for regional and global R&D decisions. This position combines technical field operations with scientific trial management, focusing on high quality execution, accurate data acquisition, and timely reporting.
The Field Scientist will contribute directly to our pipeline by ensuring that trials are established correctly, managed with care, evaluated rigorously, and documented with precision. FS will collaborate with Principal Biologists, and field station staff to ensure flawless trial delivery.
This position offers the opportunity to build long-term expertise in field research and crop protection development within a multinational R&D organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and execute field trials according to defined protocols, ensuring high quality setup, treatment application and evaluations.
- Select suitable trial sites and coordinate all necessary field operations throughout the season.
- Collect accurate field data and ensure timely entry into relevant data systems.
- Summarize trial results and share key observations to support technical decision making.
- Collaborate with colleagues, field teams, and partners involved in research activities.
- Maintain safe working practices and follow all relevant guidelines for field work.
- Maintenance of IFS sites according to Corteva and country requirements.
Location
- Szeged and Székesfehérvár are highly prefered, but other locations can be considered.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement: Basic Plant Protection Applicator Certificate (Hungarian 80 hour "Green Book" license for purchasing and applying plant protection products).
- BSc or MSc in Agronomy, Plant Protection, Agriculture, Biology, or related field.
- Experience (1-5 years) in field R&D, agronomy, crop protection, or technical field trial work.
- Practical knowledge of field trial implementation, crop production, and/or plant protection applications.
- Ability to manage seasonal workload peaks and work outdoors under variable environmental conditions.
- Strong data accuracy and digital documentation skills; basic statistical understanding is desirable.
- Good English communication for internal reporting and collaboration.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel within Hungary.
