ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you passionate about agricultural innovation and crop protection? Corteva is seeking an experienced Field Scientist to join our Integrated Field Sciences (IFS) team in Australia. In this role, you will conduct and manage local field trial programs to characterize the performance of new crop protection actives, biologicals and product concepts. You'll collaborate with regional and global teams, contribute to product launches, and provide technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute flawless field trials through hands on site selection, application and field assessments.
Summarize data using conventional statistical and scientific reporting methods; present projects internally and input summaries into global repositories.
Provide input into trial protocols, forecast and shipment of sample needs.
Ensure post-trial crop destruction in line with regulations and stewardship guidelines.
May manage specific trial programs, including those with contract researchers or other field scientists.
May represent IFS on internal commercial teams and contribute technical positioning for new products.
Organize local field tours and support decision-making in regional/global trial programs.
Support product registration dossiers and assist in local data generation for pipeline and existing products.
Monitor resistance issues, competition trends, and emerging technologies in agriculture.
Collaborate with regulatory specialists and ensure compliance with local regulations and APVMA permits.
Support digital innovation in field sciences and test next-generation agricultural practices.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES FOR THIS ROLE:
Tertiary qualification (BSc, MSc, PhD) in agricultural, biological, or plant health sciences.
Minimum 3 years experience in crop protection research and plant health disciplines.
Experience in insect control field research is preferred but experience in weed and/or disease control will also be considered.
Hands on experience with the use of field small plot application equipment.
Broad scientific and agronomic experience, with strong field trial execution skills.
Project and program management expertise.
Excellent understanding of trial design, statistical methods, data analysis, and presentation.
Commitment to safety and stewardship culture.
Strong relationship-building skills with growers, contract research organizations, and industry stakeholders.
LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Depending on skills and experience this position will be based in either south-western NSW or southern Queensland.
Travel will be required within state on a regular basis for conduct and management of seasonal trial programs.
