 
			
						    Job Description: EU Field Excellence Manager - Irrigation
Advancing Irrigation Excellence with Corteva Agriscience—Field Excellence Team, Global Seed Operations
Corteva Agriscience recognizes the critical importance of innovative irrigation practices for sustainable productivity and growth. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Europe Irrigation Specialist to join Corteva’s Field Excellence Team, a key group within Global Seed Operations. In this pivotal role, you will help shape and implement our EU irrigation strategy, lead field innovation, and provide essential expertise in growing regions where irrigation is critical to our success. You will collaborate with field teams and seed growers, align seed production fields with optimal irrigation systems, and spearhead new irrigation developments across Europe.
Education & Training: Lead educational initiatives for field teams and seed growers, demonstrating irrigation best practices and establishing clear standards for success.
Field Selection: Train the team to assess and select seed production fields to ensure compatibility with irrigation infrastructure, maximizing efficiency and yield.
New Area Development: Drive the planning and execution of new irrigation solutions in emerging production areas.
Irrigation Strategy & Direction: Develop, communicate, and realize Corteva’s Europe irrigation vision in harmony with global objectives and local requirements.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Deliver expert, hands-on support for in-field troubleshooting and irrigation management challenges.
In-Season Monitoring Oversight: Supervise irrigation monitoring services, including weekly management through the irrigation control tower and data interpretation to inform in-season adjustments.
Irrigation Monitoring Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for third-party irrigation monitoring service providers, ensuring quality and responsiveness.
Innovation & Digital Projects: Collaborate with production and digital teams on breakthrough irrigation initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and adopt new technology.
Effectiveness Assessment: Evaluate and report on the impact of irrigation strategies, recommend improvements, and monitor key performance indicators.
Irrigation Data Collection: Work with the production team to collect data, map and correctly characterize irrigation systems and capabilities.
Governmental Risks & Regulatory Issues: Identify and address governmental risks or challenges related to irrigation practices in the EU region.
GSO Support: Work with Corteva’s GSO support teams in North America and Brazil to share knowledge and best practices worldwide.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Water Resources, or a related discipline
Extensive experience in large-scale irrigation management, preferably within the EU agricultural sector
Expertise in corn and sunflower production
Proven track record in designing and delivering educational programs for agricultural teams
Proficiency in English is necessary.
Multilingual candidates are preferred.
Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in field-based contexts
Knowledge of digital irrigation systems, remote sensing, and data-driven decision making
Understanding of EU agricultural regulations and government water policy
Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills
Willingness and ability to travel within the EU as needed. Primary countries will be: France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Turkey.
