External Manufacturing Operation leader EMA region

Describe The Purpose of the Job and Why it Exists:

The purpose of this role within CORTEVA is to successfully manage the ongoing activities and be accountable for the results of External Manufacturer locations in the EMA region 

The candidate who fills this role has direct responsibility for all manufacturing activities at actives synthesis, formulation, and packaging External Manufacturers, in the region defined. The portfolio of manufacturing activities will change with time and the candidate will cover different locations and therefore must be flexible to accommodate these changes and must understand that the role brings a significant travel aspect.  The candidate will be responsible for compliance auditing, contractor validation, managing and transferring technology, quality control and assurance, process performance tracking, understanding asset capability, monitoring cost control, and reporting.

Critical to the success of a candidate in this role are the following characteristics:

• Serve as the primary interface between CORTEVA purchasing and legal function and the External Manufacturers in order to minimize risks and ensure the proper documentation of agreements
• Accountable to maintain a positive and constructive relationship with the contractor(s)
• Provide a secure link between the contractor and the CORTEVA functional centers for safety, reactive chemicals, industrial hygiene and environmental management.
• Participates in and often leads the process for selecting a manufacturing site for new formulation and packaging activities - assist in the decision-making process for the analysis of internal versus external manufacturing options
• Responsible to understand and communicate the capabilities and limitations of External Manufacturers within the organization
• Serve as the focal point for raw material / packaging supplier qualification at the contractor

Education/Certification Requirements

Degree in Engineering, chemical engineering or chemistry preferred.

Job Information and Conditions

8-10 years experience at CORTEVA - very important to have significant manufacturing experience in a CORTEVA plant preferred.

2+ years experience in formulation and packaging technology and operations and as strong experience of several years in synthesis operations.

Candidate must be fluent in English, as well as local language.

Travel is required, normally 20% to 30% travel - this is adjustable with team mix and contractor alignment.
