We are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Maintenance team at our Global Headquarters in Indianapolis, IN. This position involves working in environments where electrical hazards are present. The Electrical Maintenance Technician must adhere to strict safety protocols and demonstrate a high level of precision and care in all tasks. Working within a research and development facility, the technician will be exposed to innovative technologies and cutting-edge equipment, requiring adaptability and continuous learning.

This is an on-site position.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform work on electrically energized equipment. Alter, test, remove, calibrate, and install protective devices. Install and use insulating barriers. Remove and/or install fuses.
  • Conduct annual inspection and testing of portable electrical equipment.
  • Inspect and test mobile generators before use.
  • Consider alternate solutions for de-energizing equipment before performing energized work.
  • Inspect, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment within the facility.
  • Test malfunctioning equipment to identify and rectify electrical problems.
  • Use electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for performing tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout-tagout procedures.
  • Communicate with operators and managers to gather information about equipment problems and provide feedback on repairs.
  • Order electrical supplies and equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality working environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues with a focus on safety and minimal downtime.
  • Prioritize and organize Electrical team's work schedule by utilizing CMMS system reports and work orders.
  • Inspect systems for compliance with safety standards and national electrical codes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, contractors, and office staff.
  • Utilize technology and tools to enhance efficiency and maintain accurate records of work performed.

What Skills You Need:

  • Journeyperson certification.
  • Experience in performing electrical tasks up to 15,000 V.
  • Experience with energized electrical work and electrical switching.
  • Knowledge of NFPA70e safety protocols.
  • Proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to train and mentor other Electrically Qualified Persons.
  • Proficiency in inspecting, testing, and repairing electrical equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
