Job Description:

Corteva's Johnston Global Business Center is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable person to join a team of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) professionals. This role is critical in fostering a culture or safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across our operations. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, solutions focused approach with a strong commitment to collaboration, implementing impactful EHS&S strategies through stakeholder engagement, and an owner mindset.

Job Duties Include:

  • Support EHS&S operations for the Corteva Johnston Global Business Center by aligning personal EHS&S objective with functional and site strategies/priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with local EHS&S team and site workers to support implementation of regulatory and internal EHS&S requirements utilizing EHS&S work processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Support site investigations of incidents, root cause analysis and follow-up action items to prevent event re-occurrence.
  • Provides EHS&S technical expertise to support day to day operations and fostering improved EHS&S performance within the wider organization.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies during compliance audits and if regulatory notifications are required.
  • Partner with local EHS&S team and site workers to manage environmental compliance including:       
    • Updating permits/registrations when changes, both regulatory and internal changes, are made and ensuring compliance with permit conditions (air, water, waste)
    • Submitting regulatory required reports
    • Partner with Corteva workers to evaluate, classify, and manage waste streams in according with applicable regulations and internal requirements
    • Maintaining SPCC plans and associated trainings for affected personnel in accordance with the EPA requirements
    • Coordinate lead/asbestos testing, abatement, recordkeeping, and disposal

Education

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred) or
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with 2-3 years of on-the-job EHS related experience.

What Skills You Need

  • Self-motivated independent thinker/performer who can couple proven EHS&S practices with innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement
  • Well organized with an ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal) and ability to work within a team dynamic
  • Experience with computers and software including Microsoft Products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc)
  • Ability to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, dry, dusty, or noisy conditions when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail particularly related to recordkeeping
  • Ability to analyze technical writing/regulations and transform that into relevant actionable items
