We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Platform Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain our data platform infrastructure, including data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines, to support the organization's data needs.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, data integration, data quality, and data governance to ensure the integrity and reliability of our data.
  • Optimize data platform performance and scalability through performance tuning, query optimization, and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance our data platform capabilities and drive innovation.
  • Implement and enforce security measures and data privacy policies to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data platform issues and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure data availability.
  • Document data platform architecture, configurations, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and support ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Database Engineer, or similar role, with a strong background in designing and building data platforms and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, as well as SQL and scripting languages.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with services like Azure Data Lake, S3, Dremio, and Databricks.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or similar frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize data platform performance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
