Job Description:

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Crop Protection Field Marketing Manager. Remote locations can be California, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon or Washington. The preferred location would be in California or Oregon.

 

This position is a field based crop protection marketing role that is focused on achieving CP growth targets for the commercial unit through collaboration with sales and US Marketing team. Leading teams by driving successful new product launch planning & execution, leading CP district leads & territory managers through comprehensive retail business planning and implementing/localizing US product strategies & programs to fit local customer and geographic positioning.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Successful Product Launches Participate on new product concept teams; coordinate with marketing, sales, integrated field science and other key stakeholder to develop & implement product launch plans that include:  value prop communication, positioning vs competitors, highlighting strengths and weakness, local training, local promotions, etc.
  • Retail Business Planning Develop a thorough & consistent process to annually lead districts & territories through identifying business goals for each retailer that align to the district & territory targets.  Details to include a prioritization of retailer call support, sales goals, ROI metrics & goals, training needs, relationship support, resource/contract asks.  This role will lead a process to review plans in the district & area to gain approval for contract goals and resource ask.  Coordination with the Grower & Retail channel leader, program administration & sales training are key connections. Budget management and working with the appropriate Delegation of Authority will be essential.
  • District & CU Level Positioning & Promotion Work with Crop Protection marketing & marcomm teams for any local positioning and promotion that is needed to target US strategies & offers. Support and lead the cross-sell efforts with seed brands. Directing local MarComm tactics as well as implementing local programs and resource planning.
  • Crop Protection Coordination Point for Area Teams Cross-sell coordination, 5 year planning process, launch meetings plans, retail program exceptions, ad-hoc projects, etc.
  • Other understanding of competitive environment and offers, ROI focused, grounded in analytics balanced with understanding of how business works.

 

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor s degree in marketing, ag business, agronomy, or ag related experience required.
  • >5 years of Marketing/Sales experience with increasing levels of responsibility, and demonstrated skills in project leadership, planning, and implementation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of marketing principles and of the Crop Protection business.
  • Understanding of business strategy and demonstrated ability to translate strategy into business opportunities.
  • Ability to develop creative programs/responses to market opportunities.
  • Ability to lead project teams and collaborate within a team.
  • Ability to build relationships, interact and communicate information with sales and marketing organizations and customers.
  • Ability to synthesize market data and customer insight to develop innovative responses to market opportunities.
  • Demonstrated skills in influencing, persuasion, and negotiation.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
