Corteva Agriscience  has an exciting and challenging opportunity for Chemical Risk Assessor.

Chemical Risk Assessor - is a chemical legislation professional with strong expertise in EMEA regulatory frameworks governing industrial and agrochemical substances. The profile is characterised by in-depth knowledge of key regulations including REACH, CLP, BPR and Pesticides, together with an informed understanding of wider EU and regional policy initiatives such as the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability and their implications for the agrochemical sector.

The role requires a solid technical foundation in chemical hazard characterisation, including (eco)toxicological and physical hazards, and a clear understanding of how intrinsic hazard data is translated into regulatory obligations. This includes the preparation and submission of CLP notifications and Poison Centre Notifications to ECHA, as well as engagement with other competent authorities across EMEA jurisdictions (e.g. UK and Turkey).

The profile demonstrates practical competence in the use of regulatory IT tools, notably IUCLID for regulatory submissions and SAP (or equivalent systems) for the internal management of chemical and regulatory data. Experience includes applying chemical risk assessment and risk management methodologies in line with EU and UK regulatory requirements, typically gained within a regulated industry environment.

Individuals operating at this level are able to analyse complex scientific and technical documentation with a high degree of accuracy, while maintaining a strategic overview to identify proportionate and effective regulatory solutions. They work independently with confidence, contribute effectively to cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration, and support project delivery through strong organisational and prioritisation skills. The profile also encompasses the ability to build constructive professional relationships and, where relevant, to provide guidance or mentoring to colleagues.

Your Challenge

  • Lead or coordinate portfolio impact assessments
  • Assess, respond, and implement changes to chemical legislation regulations that will impact Corteva
  • Lead communication to Global Chemical Legislation Team, the EMEA RAS Leadership and Program Teams.
  • Represent and defend Corteva interests in industry expert groups i.e., CropLife Europe for chemical legislation and related subject matters.
  • Focus on finding and delivering the best implementation of current and future chemical regulations impacting crop protection and seed products in EMEA.
  • Support regulatory compliance current and emerging chemical legislation.

Key Duties Include

  • Develop external network with industry associations, authorities, regulators, etc.
  • Develop and implement the advocacy strategy for relevant chemical legislation topics to avoid long term disruption business/long lasting impact.
  • Liaise with internal partners and stakeholders for information sharing and alignment on related subjects
  • Provide timely update to leadership on progress on the regulatory issue and advocacy plan.
  • Represent and defend Corteva interests in industry groups on chemical legislation and related subject matters
  • Predict and anticipate future chemical legislation development and troubleshoot with chemical legislation leadership and stakeholders to ensure no business disruption
  • Provide strategic and aligned guidance to the business to overcome regulatory complexity
  • Provide chemical regulatory expertise to business partners for Corteva portfolio to ensure that issues, challenges and opportunities are progressed and addressed in a timely manner.
  • The incumbent will partner with the leadership to provide regulatory strategic advice on compliance implementation plans at (cross-) a functional level

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

  • Good Knowledge on REACH, GHS, TSCA and similar regulations in EU
  • Good knowledge of IUCLID is required and Chesar would be a benefit
  • Well versed with good documentation practices
  • Good decision-making skills and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills, experienced with handling different global stakeholders/clients/customers.
  • Good understanding of chemical regulations and product/substance classification
  • Multitasker
  • Proficient MS Office
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering, Bsc/Msc Chemistry, Pharma/Agriculture degree
  • Minimum 3+ years of Regulatory Experience

The salary range for this position is €65,000.00 to €100,000.00.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
