At Corteva Agriscience, we're at the forefront of agricultural innovation, building the future of farming by developing cutting-edge science and technology solutions to address global food security and improve the lives of people worldwide. We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Agronomist to join our team as a Biologicals Agronomy Specialist responsible for supporting sales and lead cutting-edge research in combination with Universities and CROs.

As the Biologicals Agronomy Specialist, you'll be responsible for supporting both the NEXTA and Retailer Biologicals business in Canada. Overseeing agronomy support and driving grower adoption of innovative biological-based solutions for various routes to market.. This role is critical for building strong relationships with the Biologicals sales team, developing high-performing customer teams, and ensuring a top-tier grower experience. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

Field Trial Leadership & Data Integration

  • Lead multi-location field trials for both row and specialty crops, ensuring robust data collection and analysis. Integrate trial results into technical guides and sales materials to support product positioning and grower education.

Technical Content Creation & Communication

  • Develop educational materials (e.g., video scripts, videos, technical bulletins, presentations) tailored to NEXTA, Retail and grower needs.

Stakeholder Engagement & Event Support

  • Represent the company at grower meetings, technical presentations, and industry events.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Develop and implement training programs that enhance the agronomic knowledge and sales skills of team members and costumers.
  • Provide regular technical coaching, feedback, and support to optimize team performance and achieve sales goals.
  • Support and motivate the team to achieve and exceed sales targets while ensuring the team remains focused on grower needs and proper technical expectations.

Territory Management & Sales Growth Support:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technical strategy for NEXTA and Retail footprint, focusing on both existing customer retention and new business development.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify opportunities for growth, and adjust agronomic strategies accordingly.
  • Manage and execute field trials and agronomic communications plans to support grower education and sales initiatives.
  • Analyze sales and agronomy data, identify trends, and implement strategies to drive market share growth.

Grower Solutions & Relationship Building:

  • Champion the complete Corteva portfolio, including seed, seed treatment, digital tools, crop protection, and biologicals, to deliver comprehensive and differentiated solutions to growers.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class grower and retailer engagement strategies that promote brand awareness and trust.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key influencers, industry stakeholders, and local partners.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all peers (including R&D, Sales, Logistics etc.), supporting functions, leaders, and external partners.
  • Work closely with marketing to align agronomic messaging and ensure technical accuracy in all communications.
  • Represent the company with integrity, passion, and professionalism.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in a sales or field-based environment, with a history of collaborating with high-performing teams.

  • PhD in agronomy - crop science discipline.

  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.

  • Ability to present product positioning and agronomic functionality to large grower and retailer groups. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships with growers, retailers, and industry stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.

  • Ability to travel as necessary to support business activities across Canada.
