We're hiring for a Biologicals CU Agronomist.

The Biologicals Commercial Unit Agronomist (BCUA) is a Biologicals-line expert in a cluster of countries (CEECU - Central and Eastern Europe Commercial Unit) which is responsible for technical trainings, local data generation in the CU for Biologicals and focal points for selected crops.

The BCUA gathers local business needs and EMEA projects define local agronomic needs and propose a plan of work to address them. BCUA is responsible for proposing every year a clear and documented analysis of the CU trial results per crop, that is presented to the CU team and to the regional Agronomy team during data review(s). It plays also a critical role in creating local crop approach toolkit by gathering input from external and internal key stakeholders, based on proven agronomic information.

Key individual in the roll out / launch of products and technical support on those products, leading and ensuring appropriate Technical Transfer to Corteva peers and key stakeholders. BCUA is responsible to create with local business and Regional Agronomy, the CEECU Biologicals training plan and to execute this plan

Center of Expertise - focal point for at least 1 crop at EMEA Agronomy level, accountable to gather and share technical information with peers, responsible to compile data in all EMEA and prepare the data review for those crops. Owner of the crop approach toolkits for those crops

Active member of the CEECU LPCTs to represent Agronomy group, advocate of those LPCTs in regional/global agronomy forums

Understanding as customer: Distributors, farmers, stakeholders, officials, and any other influencer in the market.

 

Your Challenge:

CU Agronomy Scientist

  • Defines and collects countries biological & Agronomy questions and needs to support product technical positioning.
  • Responsible for enabling a strong trial network in the region to support data creation to be used for local product or project launch and promotion, while enabling the data consolidation with EMEA Agronomy structure.
  • Design and coordinate effective and conclusive agronomy trial programs in connection with local trials and EMEA Agronomy projects to ensure an effective trial network.
  • Creates report on desired and realistic CU biological positioning by crops and user programs.  Report results in a disciplined way for the crop under their responsibilities and construct CEECU meta-analysis by crop.
  • Active member of Agronomy Team EMEA.
  • Coordinates and set up of the agronomy protocols under CoE role, and regionally for local specifics in CEECU, monitor implementation, report results in a disciplined way (implementation of CODAMA tool for benefit trials collection in the CU), construct CEECU meta-analysis by crops.

 

Technical Transfer

  • Transfers the knowledge on plant / Agronomy know-how linked to the biologicals portfolio (existing and new products) to local teams. Support the country's team by coordinating CU knowledge transfer sessions on key topics.
  • Elaborates and gather technical literature, presentations, and commercial materials to support product positioning for the CU in line with product, crop of focus for the CU. Strong collaboration with regional agronomy leaders or R&D.
  • Spread and share technical results of our products with the main external stakeholders. Support the countries business teams in organizing knowledge Transfer sessions in other countries and study trips. Liaises and support Corteva country business, channel partners, end users, officials, and other influencers regarding technical presentation of Corteva Biologicals products and projects.
  • Participate in the roll-out of digital Knowledge Transfer platform (passive KT) (Biostimulant Academies for e.g) in the CU. Structure and leverage across countries a Knowledge Transfer offering for external partners.
  • Active member of countries and CU Product Concept Teams.

 

Advocacy and engagement of stakeholders & Centre of Expertise (CoE role)

  • Build trusting and lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Engage stakeholders to create collaborative partnerships and to achieve deeper impact on our portfolio at country and CU level. Create for key topics/crops networking events in collaboration with the business and the Foodchain focal points (EMEA and countries).
  • CoE role:

    - EMEA focal point related to respective COE crop

    • Accountable for yearly/multi-yearly crop information, results and crop approach
    • Contact for the global and regional agronomy team and the R&D teams

    - Consolidate information / look for extra information to improve common knowledge and training tools

    - Accountable for regional testing plan and protocols on COE crop

    • Get the right forum for decision making
    • Propose to regional Agro for prioritization and final validation

    - Accountable for delivering crop summary at the end of the year

    - Accountable for proposing article in the monthly newsletter- sequenced.

 

Miscellaneous

  • Participate with the regional agronomy team to the development of new services or combined.
  • Agronomy focal point during some technical materials and guidelines creation.
  • Give support to commercial teams on complaints/claims.
  • Analyze competitor knowledge (technical strengths and weaknesses) and build CU database.
  • Use and encourage use of digital platforms to promote our activities, campaigns, products or services.

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

  • Agronomist Degree
  • PhD, MSc, proved solid agronomic background on Plant Nutrition, Soil Science, Biologicals products, Agriculture and Plant Physiology. Project Management, good understanding of commercial environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Agronomy or Biologicals.
  • Strong technical knowledge on local crops and crop management.
  • Experience working on a field level with biostimulants or biocontrol products.
  • Field trials, Product development or R&D or technical selling. Ideally some experience in project management, strong connection with research organizations.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Effective use of computers and MS Office.
  • Broad knowledge in agronomy, plant physiology (and crop protection ideally).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Good listener and interpreter of views from a wide range of inputs.
  • Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills.
  • Scientific acumen and analytic mindset.
  • Effective public speaking skills. Engage the audience in commercial/technical presentations.
  • Results and business oriented. Ability to work closely with internal and external customers and respond to their needs.
  • Problem solving and adaptability.
  • Good team worker demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organization and team, while demonstrating ability to take initiative locally
