Description
Responsible for leading the agricultural commodities trading desk, analyzing market trends, and identifying business opportunities. Manage trading operations, including advanced Barter, hedging, pricing, and settlement, ensuring operational excellence and compliance. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with trading companies, clients, and stakeholders, while providing support to internal and field teams. Oversee risk management, exposure monitoring, and results control, driving continuous process improvements. Lead, train, and develop the trading desk team, ensuring high performance and alignment with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the trading desk, coordinating and executing agricultural commodities trading operations, advanced Barter, and hedging activities.
- Analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and transform insights into effective commercial strategies.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with trading partners, clients, stakeholders, and internal teams (Credit & Collections, Legal, CSR, Internal Controls, Finance).
- Manage exposure and monitor risks in trading operations, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure execution, control, and settlement of trading and advanced Barter operations, maintaining compliance and accuracy of information.
- Perform commodity pricing and component analysis to support commercial decisions.
- Provide technical and strategic support to field teams and internal departments.
- Design and deliver training sessions on processes, fostering team development.
- Support internal and external audits, presenting evidence of compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, promoting operational excellence and sustainable results.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the agribusiness sector, with at least 5 years in commodities trading and advanced Barter operations.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, hedging, and trade settlement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic vision, and results orientation.
- Proven experience in team leadership and positive influence.
- Collaborative profile with interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Salesforce and SAP platforms.
- Fluent English.
