Role Description

The Area Market Development (AMD) Crop Protection (CP) is accountable and responsible for proposing, managing, and executing on the plans to support business objectives specific to his / her assigned farmer base within the assigned district.  He / she is responsible for managing a team of market development officer (MDO) who is expected to be the executor of the demand generation plans relating to commercial programs and policies set by Demand Generation and New Commercialization Leads, Marketing Team and Customer Technology Specialist as aligned with the country business goal.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

• A bachelor's degree in agriculture, agronomy, plant science, or a related field.
• Courses in business, marketing, or management can also be beneficial.

Experience:

• Several years of experience in the agricultural industry, particularly in crop protection, agronomy, or related fields.
• Experience in sales, marketing, or business development within the agricultural sector.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of crop protection products, including pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with farmers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
• Analytical skills to assess market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
• Ability to develop and implement marketing strategies and plans.
• Proficiency in using agricultural software and tools for data analysis and reporting.

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to travel frequently to meet with customer and attend events.
• Knowledge of local agricultural practices and regulations.
