Come join our team in the position of AgVenture Portfolio and Technology Leader. This position will manage the AgVenture (AVI) product team, lead overall product line management, and lifecycle planning for all AgVenture product lines. This role will be part of the AVI leadership team and work closely with research, sales, marketing, and supply chain personnel to achieve growth initiatives and ensure strategic alignment across the brand.

Functional Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:

Lead overall AVI product line management

  • Product evaluation
    • Experimental, commercial, and associated technologies
    • Inbred and Experimental product performance relative to advancement and demand planning
  • Lead Lifecycle management, gap analysis, and product advancement initiatives
  • Crop plan review and commercial naming responsibilities; oversee product information database in Seedware
  • Provide forecasting support and input on specific products when requested by ISC's

Develops product and trait deployment strategies that align with AgVenture's 5-year business plan

  • Work closely with Multi Channel Product Team and other Corteva Brand Product Leads
  • Work directly with Product team/AgVenture ISCs (Independent Seed Companies) to ensure strong understanding of traits and technology

Lead Regional Product Managers

  • Provide direction, training/development, and support to regional product management team
  • Develop business process and functional responsibilities to improve business quality and deliver a strong customer experience.

Sales and Marketing Support

  • Work with Marketing Communication Specialist to contribute to seed catalogs, product profiles, and AgVenture APP as needed
  • Interact with Marketing Communication specialist to ensure all product and technology information is accurate
  • Work with AVI GM and provide input on multi-year strategic plans

Training Lead for Corn Germplasm and Traits. 

  • Present and share information at sales meetings and webinars
  • Participate in corn IMPACT tours with MCS Product Team to improve knowledge base and represent AgVenture's product needs
  • Responsible for education and placement recommendations to ISCs on new products released by Research and Development.
  • Responsible for Training-the-Trainers on new products and technologies 

Plot/Field Trial Strategy and Coordination

  • Develop and Implement AVI Plot and Field Trial Strategy
  • Coordinate product selection for AgVenture Profit Plot training sites
  • Develop plans for the launch and demonstration of new technologies
  • Interact with corn research staff.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Genetics, Crop Science, or related field
  • Master's degree or equivalent preferred.

Experience Desired:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of product management, portfolio leadership, or agronomy experience
  • Experience in product strategy, leadership and people management desired

Competencies Required:

  • Demonstrates competent computer skills, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills in all areas; oral, written, and presentational
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrates strong skills in people management, relationship building, and communicating with a variety of groups and departments

Skills Required:

  • Ability to assimilate large amounts of technical information and condense into useable, understandable form.
  • Product testing and evaluation
  • Working knowledge of field experimentation methods
  • Conflict resolution and objection handling
  • Ability to get results by taking initiative, overcoming obstacles, and finding creative solutions.

Physical/Environmental Demands:

  • Travel requirements (30% of time)
  • Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Public speaking is required
  • Will spend seasonal time outside in fields.
  • May be exposed to various weather conditions.
