Job Description:
The Used Equipment Manager appraises all potential trade in and purchases of used equipment, optimizes retail and wholesale sales of used equipment through inbound leads from advertising, referrals, and prospecting. The position enhances wholesale sales of used equipment through auction houses, retail dealers, exporters, and brokers as directed by management. Additionally, this role pursues internet leads with a strong import and export experience in support of marketing efforts related to digital advertising and display of used equipment as directed by management. The role maintains a database of potential retail and wholesale used equipment buyers and provides insight through data and market intelligence related to used equipment values.
- Manage and develop Inside Sales Representatives.
- Responsible for appraisal of all potential incoming trades and staying abreast of market conditions across all channels.
- Responsible for used equipment wholesale sales, promotion of used products, and relationship building with used equipment wholesalers to achieve turn and margin goals.
- Regularly monitors and tracks competitive activities with consistent and accurate reporting to management.
- Utilizes industry data, CRM, and other resources to make informed decisions.
- Creates monthly reports with aging, pricing, and profitability figures to present to management.
- Works with NHC Management in developing actions to achieve used equipment profitability and inventory turn targets.
- Provides current and accurate information on Used Equipment Listings for NHC Website.
- Builds strong working relationships with the NHC Retail Sales Team and assists with training and growing Salespersons knowledge of Used Equipment Evaluations.
- Responds to used wholesale equipment customer queries and identifies new business opportunities amongst existing customers.
- Actively liaise with cross-functional internal teams to improve the entire customer experience.
Your profile:
- 4 year College Degree in Agriculture or related field or equivalent experience, required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in used large machinery sales or experienced remarketing capacity with agricultural equipment, preferred.
- Minimum of five years leading exempt level employees, including training and staff development; Ability to give employee feedback in verbal and written form succinctly and timely.
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience in B:C and B:B situations.
- Excellent knowledge of finance programs and structure of finance programs.
- Must have solid knowledge about farming business and the economics that drives farmers decision making.
- Farming background desirable with previous experience in application, adjustment, setting, and safe operation of farm equipment.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skill set.
- Knowledge of CLAAS products and retail finance process, a plus.
