Location: Pasco, WA 
Reports to: Operations Manager 
Salary Range: Non-Exempt Employee $22.00 - $28.00 per hour   (based on experience and education)

A Brief Overview
Milling Support will be responsible for providing crucial support in seed milling operations.  This position involves assisting in the milling process, ensuring the efficient and safe processing of seeds to meet quality standards.  Milling Support will work closely with the milling team to maintain equipment, perform quality checks, and ensure the smooth operation of the seed milling facility.  Follows company and safety standards. Understands details of milling and cleaning vegetable seed procedures, has mechanical aptitude.  Supports in carrying out daily, and weekly milling plans; works to increase efficiency and productivity. This role encompasses multifunctional responsibilities, involving the development of proprietary agronomic methods and machinery. The demand for this position necessitates dedicating 50+ hours weekly during peak seasons.
 
 
Essential Activities
  • Assist in the seed milling process, including cleaning, sorting, grading, and packaging seeds according to established procedures.
  • Operate and maintain milling equipment, such as seed cleaners, separators, graders, and packaging machines, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on seeds to ensure adherence to quality standards, including seed purity, moisture content, and germination rates.
  • Collaborate with the milling team to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of seed inventory, production data, and quality control measures for reporting and analysis.
  • Forklift operator
  • Provide support in other seed processing tasks, including receiving, conditioning, and treating seeds as needed.
 
 
Qualifications
  • Required – High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Preferred – Vocational Training in welding, auto shop, electrical or wood working 
  • Preferred – Forklift operation experience.
  • Preferred 1-3 Years experience in milling and cleaning equipment 
 
 
 
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of seed milling processes, including cleaning, sorting, grading, and packaging techniques.
  • Ability to perform quality checks on seeds, including purity, moisture content, germination rates, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in operating seed milling equipment, such as seed cleaners, separators, graders, and packaging machines.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Ability to think creatively and function in a team.
  • Bilingual is a plus -Spanish.
