Seed Account Manager II, Corn States (North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota) 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Territory: South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota

 

 The primary responsibilities of this role, Seed Account Manager II (Corn States) are:

 

  • Incorporate Corn States/Bayer strategy into the strategic direction of assigned accounts to develop a comprehensive licensee business plan providing success for both companies;
  • Build a relationship with assigned accounts, serving as the business consultant to deliver short- and long-term business objectives and achieve partnership status;
  • Develop and implement annual (Y0 – 1) business plans Collaborate with accounts to set business direction and identify business opportunities;
  • Communicate, promote, and implement Corn States marketing programs and account specific tactics within P&L guardrails;
  • Develop and implement growth strategies with assigned Corn States accounts;
  • Manage expense and marketing resources within budget;
  • Collaborate with Corn States Technical Product Rep to assess and develop strategic production planning strategies for each assigned account that supports the Corn States genetic and trait strategy. Accountable for annual seedstock volume goals (Y1);
  • Accountable for annual trait and genetic volume goals (Y0);
  • Accountable for Seed Growth planning and goals with assigned account;
  • Maintain trait and germplasm sales forecasting for assigned accounts.

 

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  •  
  • Account management experience;
  • Proven ability to lead through influence;
  • Proven success in building effective business relationships across divisions of organizations;
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, leadership;
  • Ability to balance the Bayer and customer needs to achieve mutually beneficial business results;
  • A high degree of leadership and collaboration existing between Bayer internal teams and the account;
  • Strong communication & influencing skills to drive execution of the account plans with stakeholders;
  • Account management skills that include big picture understanding and creative solutions;
  • Direct selling experience;
  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Valid Driver’s License;
  • Willingness and ability to travel 30%-50%.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Eight to ten years of sales or account management experience in the agricultural field plus a bachelor’s degree or 6 years of sales or account management experience in the agricultural field plus a master’s degree or MBA.

 

Position will be residence based in South Dakota, North Dakota, or Minnesota.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between ($137,053.10 - $205,579.64) Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
