Scale Up & Fermentation Co-Op 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to: 

  • You will experiment independently to understand how process variations affect fermentation outcomes, this can mean that you will review literature, design hypotheses, develop experiments, analyze results, and report conclusions;
  • This role requires setup, use, maintenance and modification of lab equipment so as to assess parameters of interests;
  • Research results shall be analyzed, reports drafted, and results need to be effectively communicated to internal partners;
  • Support with routine lab operation is required to ensure a safe lab operation.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor, masters, or doctoral degree in bioengineering, chemical engineering or a related field;
  • Prior hands-on experience on biotechnological lab equipment and with microbial cultures is required;
  • Understanding of mass and energy balances in a unit operation is required;
  • Proven track record of work within chemical and/or biotech labs;
  • Good organization and planning skills;
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team;
  • You should be highly motivated;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideally, familiar with bioreactors and cultivation protocols.
