Operations Technician Nursery 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Operations Technician Nursery are to: 

• Execute tasks across growing environments and operations, to enable on time seed production and delivery;
• Support areas across the plant production in driving the adoption and execution of continuous improvement practices;
• Identifies, report and addresses problems in the workflows and operations procedures that may impact quality; and recognize opportunities for improvements;
• Comply and actively participate within Bayer policies, safety and quality standard;
• Collect and enter data to enable nursery operations within time limits;
• Collaborate with Community Outreach and Planet Impact initiatives;
• Demonstrate teamwork by completing quality tasks through daily communication and coordination with other crew members and site leadership;
• Assist on training and ensure employees are competent to perform operational safety, stewardship and QMS procedures;

WHO YOU ARE           

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree;
• Prior agriculture experience;
• Ability to work extended hours during peak operational seasons;
• Ability to lift to 60 lbs.;
• Fluent in Spanish and English language, written and conversational;
• Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team based environment;
• Proficient in Information Technology (IT) tools and Microsoft Office programs;

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Breeding, Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial or Computer Engineering or related field;
• Valid driver’s license; (in order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company's risk screening for hiring drivers Motor Vehicle Records will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening).
