North America Equipment Specialist II 

  

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Join our team and enhance preventative maintenance (PM), in-field repairs, logistics, and inventory of the North
America Field Testing Operations (NAFTO) centralized fleet.

 

  • Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance, and resolves complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs on agricultural research equipment, including tractors, planters, and harvesters
  • Work with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and field operations to oversee and execute equipmentpreventative maintenance, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC), and seasonal fleet deployment strategies;
  • Manage inventory, invoicing, and data management associated with PM and QAQC
  • Perform in agile environments, drive high-quality deliverables, demonstrate effective communication across teams, and show initiative in problem-solving with peers
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations in alignment with Sustainability Safety Health & Environment (SSHE),
  • Stewardship requirements, and Business Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards;
  • Leverage digital and mechanical platforms to collect, analyze, and deliver data on agronomic traits throughout the growing season
  • Develop cross-functional workflow plans, utilize technical and digital tools, and communicate plans and status updates
  • Lead equipment fleet coordination and logistics
  • Execute field research equipment training and builds supporting documentation;
  • Build and leverage networks across diverse teams and functions, as well as establishe and maintain partnerships in the local community;
  • Travel greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a shared company-supplied vehicle.

 

WHO YOU ARE 

  

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 

  

Required Qualifications: 

  

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing equipment;
  • Ability and willingness to travel independently in North America up to 25% of the time particularly during peak seasons, including overnights. Valid driver’s license (Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet company minimum guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to achieve common goals;
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures for extended periods, including additional shifts and weekends, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • Completion of an Agriculture Mechanics technical program

  • Seven or more years of relevant experience (including post high school academic or industrial experience);

  • Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems used in agricultural and/or large equipment

  • Experience with precision agriculture hardware and software solutions

  • Experience suggesting continuous improvement and innovation

  • Experience in inventory management

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $60,344.00 - $90,516.00.  

Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
