NA ANZ Regulatory Approvals Hub Lead 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, NA ANZ Regulatory Approvals Hub Lead, are to:    

 

  • Holds accountability for regulatory strategies necessary to timely register, re register, and defend the NA ANZ portfolio at all national and local levels of government, and commodity/residue approvals (MRLs) necessary to timely enable global trade in the same.
  • Holds global accountability for new and existing herbicide uses in herbicide tolerant (HT) seed and trait systems, including global accountability for regulatory strategies necessary to launch in cultivation countries, and global import tolerance strategy to maximize global HT business value while maintaining safety and regulatory standards.
  • Is accountable for effective collaboration with cross functional internal and external stakeholders to: shape the regulatory environment to enable timely regulatory action, deliver the regulatory agenda in NA ANZ, deliver the global HT regulatory agenda, support global trade enablement, and support the regional and global businesses. Stakeholders include internal R&D functions, internal CS commercial functions, internal CS public and governmental affairs functions, external regulatory authorities, external third-party license agreements, external trade associations, and external customers.
  • Is accountable to transparently manage the Regulatory Approvals Hub budget to ensure the best use of available resources toward key Outcomes; directly influences other significant budgets across the regional budget.
  • Advises the business and guides commercial decisions relative to regulatory status of Bayer and competitor portfolios.
  • Supports and steers high performing and diverse teams to ensure optimal expertise necessary to deliver Outcomes, defend Bayer’s license to operate, and grow the Crop Science business .
  • Ensures the development of leadership competencies at both the individual and collective level.
  • Steers the talent development of the team, provides opportunities for personal development, and encourages a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Promotes individual development and best use of individual capabilities, generating robust and actionable individual development plans.
  • Represents NA ANZ and the global HT portfolio and actively contributes to the development of the Global Regulatory Science organization by proposing, contributing, or leading specific, cross functional initiatives or projects.

 

 

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

 Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • BS or MS in biology, chemistry, biology, or agronomy (or related subjects). Ph.D. preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of pesticide, seed, trait, and BLX regulatory environments with proven track record of success
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding in agronomic industry business and competitive landscape.
  • Strong strategic mindset with vision and purpose to drive and mobilize others to deliver
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Impeccable integrity and a strong commitment to regulatory compliance and ethics
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to lead by influence across multiple functions and external stakeholders
  • Superior negotiation and persuasive skills and ability to build strategic relationships
  • Ability to innovate and find solutions for novel regulatory issues and processes to address the current and future business landscape.
  • Strong leadership skills to develop talent.
  • Builds effective teams and leverages diversity through strong cross-cultural skills.
