Mining Environmental Engineer Intern

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

Development of yearly reclamation and remediation plans;
Water sampling and logging of data;
Assist in establishing native flowers, habitat, and food plots on various active and legacy mine sites;
Assist in storm water inspections and plan updates;
Involvement in planning, installation, and maintenance of erosion control best management practices;
Collect soil & vegetation samples from an ongoing field study;
Involvement in agency inspections;
Operation of reclamation equipment;
Work with GIS ArcView;
Surveying with a Trimble GPS;
Assist other department personnel as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
Students must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Environmental Engineering (or related field) and have completed their sophomore year by the start of their co-op or internship;
In addition to current enrollment interns must work at the Soda Position.

Desired Coursework: ·
- Watershed Management, Range-Wildlife Relation, Revegetation 20, GIS & GPS, Soil/Environmental Chemistry, Soil & Water Conservation, Environmental Law, Elements of Mining, Project Management, Environmental Engineering.
