Logistics Representative 

 

Logistics Representative – Shakopee, MN

PURPOSE

This position safely performs the duties and responsibilities to insure the reliable supply of quality verified product to both internal and external customers. Establishes and maintains packaging and shipping standards, both domestic and international, and provided guidance regarding day to day dock operations, inventory control and shipping/ receiving in order to ensure compliance while fulfilling customer requirements.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RSPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight to ensure the safe and secure day-to-day operations of the dock and warehouse including continuous improvement, material flow/inventory management and maintenance of warehouse operations;
  • Coordination of inbound and outbound transportation planning includes both product and non-product shipments;
  • Act as a delegate and deputy compliance officer for Bayer International Trade Group; Preparation of export documentation and record retention according to Bayer CEMP;
  • In person and through influence to others, provides oversight of packaging operation – crating and packaging – and ensures the quality of packaging;
  • Liaison with Quality Assurance for material inspection, both inbound and outbound;
  • Manage, monitor and maintain shipping/receiving MRO to ensure reliable, on time supply.   
  • Meet, and exceed, internal and external customer expectations for quality, quantity and on time delivery of product;
  • Assurance of compliance in all transactions;
  • Ensure operations processes and oversight are performed with transparency of performance and cost to the business. Creates a continuous improvement environment;
  • Strong collaboration and coordination with operation staff and management; as well as commercial organization.
  • Position frequently acts as a liaison between the customer and the business; as well between strategic and operational business partners;
  • Must collaborate with all business functions to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded. In particular to order accuracy, on-time delivery and service.

WHO YOU ARE 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a warehouse/shipping/receiving environment that supports a manufacturing/industrial operation;
  • Proficiency in working within an Enterprise Resource Planning system supporting operational material/process flow and logistics, preferably SAP;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree, bachelor’s degree or secondary business education;
  • Two or more years of experience in export shipping and regulatory documentation;
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification and understanding of lean concepts.
