Lab Analyst II 

 

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

 

As a Lab Analyst II, you will be based at our Woodland, CA site focusing on vegetable seeds before they go to market. You will work specifically in Quality Testing – Seed Health in the Molecular department with the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. reporting directly to the Lab Operations Manager.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Lab Analyst II, are to:
 

  • Timely, accurate preparation, evaluation, and recording of seed analyses;
  • Under the direction of Lab Operations Managers and/or Lab Coordinators complete the testing processes ensuring process control, accurate data management, timely escalation of problem solving, and error correction;
  • Effectively troubleshoot testing processes and ensure appropriate error resolution;
  • Aid in training new Lab Analysts;
  • Ability to learn and apply scientific methods and non-routine techniques for analysis as directed by protocols and work instructions to deliver quality results - which may include preparation of reagents, media, controls and sample preparation;
  • Participate in Management of Change process and updates of testing protocols and work instructions;
  • Work independently within a team environment to ensure all testing is conducted in compliance with Bayer ESH policies, Laboratory QMS and protocols, and Regulatory agency requirements;
  • Provide oversight and task related feedback to contingent labor;
  • Maintain reagents and consumables to required inventory levels;
  • Participate in special projects / teams;
  • Participate in a continuous improvement program focused on enhancing current processes and performing root cause analyses/troubleshooting of issues;
  • Actively engage in onePSS programs & initiatives;
  • Participate in Bayer’s ESH safety program and cross-site projects/initiatives.


Who You Are

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma;
  • Strong knowledge of basic laboratory techniques;
  • Fluent in English with the ability to read, write, and speak effectively;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to work as a team member and effectively communicate within a multicultural environment;
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to multitask in a high throughput environment;
  • This position may require a change in shift hours - Weekend and overtime work as needed.


Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Bachelors degree with 0 years of lab experience OR an Associates degree with 2 years of lab experience OR a High School Diploma with 5 years of lab experience preferred;

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $51,240.00 and $76,860.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.  This posting will be available for application until at least 8/6/24.
