  • Pay is based on past work experience and/or schooling required for the Instrumentation and Electrical Distribution Technician (Trainee):

    • $26.08 an hour for Level I
    • $29.03 an hour for Level II
    • $31.40 an hour for Level III.  
    • Great earnings potential available when meeting B Level and A Level technician requirement.

 What you'll do

The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (Trainee) provides support in maintenance services for process controls instrumentation equipment, sophisticate analytical equipment, and electrical systems in the chemical manufacturing plant. Services provided by the technician include installation, checkout, startup, and troubleshooting process controls and electrical systems.  

  •  Assist in performing routine, unscheduled, and preventative PCS maintenance tasks that 1) return disabled equipment to a safe working condition or 2) thru regular routine or preventative activities, maintain equipment in good, safe working condition to eliminate unscheduled outages;
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment or assist in making modifications to existing equipment that will enhance the operation of process equipment;
  • Troubleshooting PCS equipment or system failures to determine an appropriate solution;
  • Participate in reviews regarding repairs, replacements, failure analysis, installations and modifications of electrical and instrumentation equipment;
  • Perform calibration and testing of PCS systems and related equipment;
  • Have basic computer knowledge, understanding of diagrams, prints, NFPA 70E and basic use of multimeter;
  • Observe all company work and safety procedures;
  • Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and facilities;
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

 

About You:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical and perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Hours: Monday through Friday 6:45am start time; 8 or10-hour shifts.  Overtime required as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED AND 6 months fulltime work/military experience OR 12 months parttime work/military experience; OR
  • Completed a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Work-Ready Program prior to graduating High School; OR
  • High School diploma/GED AND 6 months fulltime postsecondary education also considered.

 

Areas of Work/Military Experience, Postsecondary Education may include but not limited to:

  • Industrial Instrumentation;
  • Industrial Electrical Maintenance;
  • Distributive Controls Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC;)
  • Installation, maintenance, and calibration of analyzer systems;
  • Emerson Delta V DCS;
  • Process analyzers, sensors, and sampling systems;
  • Packaging and/or robotics equipment;
  • 3 phase electrical distribution up to 15k VAC.
