Field Crew Lead 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Crew Lead, are to: 

 

  • Lead a team of field crew members to ensure the proper and timely execution in all functions of the farm. In accordance with operating processes which include seed production activities in nursery, manufacturing, and maintenance settings. This includes activities such as field preparation, planting, cultivating, pollinating, harvesting, seed processing, crop protection, field purity and irrigation or fertigation;
  • Assist supervisors in all needed activities related to managing and facilitating the work of field crew members, such as transportation within and to and from Bayer facilities and provision of supplies at worksite;
  • Lead team of field crew members for the Bayer’s safety program by adhering to all safety policies while working, and attendance at regular company sponsored safety meetings;
  • Ensure the maintenance and inspection of crew vehicles are completed, as well as in improvement of the farms and other assets;
  • Adhere to all established operation processes when carrying out assigned tasked, particularly as it relates to safety compliance and worker protection standard;
  • Communicate progress or status of assigned daily tasks to supervisors;
  • Train field crew members on how to use specified agriculture Technology platforms and reviews data collection for accuracy;
  • Review workflow results for quality and compliance;
  • Lead projects and teams as assigned;
  • Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage.

 

WHO YOU ARE                       

                  

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively, both verbally and written;
  • Ability to learn applicable technology, to include handheld devices and desktop computers;
  • Ability to function as a team member and individually;
  • Availability to work full time with ability to meet overtime demands including occasional shift work, weekends, and holidays;
  • Valid driver's license; Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers;
  • If transporting employees, be at least 21 years old;
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and train teams and processes.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Three years or more of relevant experience;
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience;
  • Ability to operate machinery and agriculture equipment;
  • Valid Hawaii Driver’s license.

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of $27.77. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors. This posting will be available for application until at least 8/6/24.
