Chemist Intern 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to: 

• Performs routine and non-routine laboratory testing of Chemistry experiments in support of Process Development, Environmental Operations, Process Support and Optimization, and other development projects;
• Work on projects under the guidance of experienced Chemists to reduce waste, increase efficiencies, streamline processes, and identify cost savings opportunities;
• Support lab operational excellence and implements best practices in a lab facility;
• Support build of new equipment/reactors in a lab by driving safety reviews;
• Gain knowledge of the operation of lab/bench/pilot equipment/reactors with high complexity.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Chemistry or related discipline;
• Candidates should have completed their sophomore year of degree program by the start of the internship (Summer 2025);
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Good problem-solving skills;
• High degree of personal initiative;
• Excellent organization and planning skills;
• Ability to work well on a team and in a diverse environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least overall GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale;
• Proficient in MS Office Suite Position will be based in Creve Coeur, MO (St. Louis area).
