As an I&E Technician you will be responsible for I&E maintenance duties as assigned. This will include the troubleshooting, installation, calibration, and repair of all instrumentation equipment, and completion of Preventative Maintenance tasks at the Port Arthur, TX Site.
During your shift as a I/E Technician (Port Arthur, TX), you will
Work with the I/E supervisor and the I/E technicians. This is for accomplishing and documenting routine maintenance work including:
Performing preventative maintenance
Conducting regulatory inspections
Assisting with capital projects
Perform Maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and document plant instrumentation systems.
Support all EHS policies and procedures while promoting a safe work environment.
Track and update assigned tasks in the maintenance management system (SAP) on a daily basis.
Be willing to work a day or rotating shift as required.
Be willing to work overtime as required.
Comply with all company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
If you...
Possess a high school diploma; associate degree in instrumentation or equivalent military training preferred.
Demonstrate over 8 years of experience as a journeyman instrument technician or 1.5+ years at the apprentice level.
Exhibit strong knowledge of operations, maintenance, repair, chemical process instrumentation and controls (level, flow, pressure, temperature, analysis).
Understand electrical supply and distribution systems including motors, MCCs, transformers, lighting and wiring.
Interpret and troubleshoot electrical and instrument control schematics.
Have the ability to read and update electrical and instrument documents such as schematics, specifications, P&IDs and on line diagrams.
Have knowledge of safety regulations associated with instrumentation/electrical and practices in chemical operations, including LOTO, confined space entry, line break and hot work.
Comprehend NEC code and requirements for working in electrically classified areas.
Utilize SAP for maintenance notifications and history tracking; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Are proficient in the use of ProCal calibration software. (preferred)
