We are looking for a I&E Maintenance Supervisor to join our Intermediates team in Geismar, LA.

With more than 600 products in its portfolio, in particular amines, diols, polyalcohols, acids and specialties, the Intermediates division offers innovative solutions for a wide range of industries - from coatings and plastics to pharmaceuticals and crop protection.

As an Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, reliability, and performance of instrumentation and electrical systems within our facility at Geismar, LA. This role requires a highly skilled and safety-conscious professional who ensures compliance with industry standards, supports continuous improvement, and leads a team of technicians and planners to maintain operational excellence.

As a I&E Maintenance Supervisor, you create chemistry by...

  • Supervising the daily activities of I&E technicians, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Planning, prioritizing, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance for instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Communicating maintenance status to stakeholders through reports and appropriate oral and written updates.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to control systems, PLCs, DCS, analyzers, motors, and switchgear.
  • Ensuring compliance with BASF requirements, as well as NFPA, API, ISA, OSHA and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Maintaining documentation for electrical drawings, loop sheets, calibration records, and maintenance logs.
  • Collaborating with engineering, operations, and safety teams to support plant reliability and improvement initiatives.
  • Providing I&E maintenance support for capital projects, as well as for turnaround planning and execution for I&E scope.
  • Managing spare parts inventory and procurement for I&E equipment.
  • Providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback to I&E team members.
  • Participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis related to electrical/instrumentation failures.


If you...

  • Hold a degree in a related field with over 5 years of plant I&E experience, or alternatively, a high-school diploma or GED with more than 8 years of plant I&E experience.
  • Have a technical license or certification (e.g., ISA, ITI, NCCER), which is considered a plus.
  • Possess strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, and control systems.
  • Are familiar with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP), MS Office, InTools, and maintenance planning tools.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Exhibit excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Are capable of working in hazardous environments and responding to emergencies.
