We are looking for a Global Communications Manager to join our Agricultural Solutions team Professional & Specialty Solutions (P&SS) based in Research Triangle Park, NC.

As a Global Communications Manager you will play a key role in adding value to the Agricultural Solutions business. This position is responsible for recommending and developing marketing communication strategies and managing creative and efficient marketing communications programs and campaigns. These efforts will align with the Agricultural Solutions divisional business strategy, as well as the Professional & Specialty Solutions business strategy, aiming to improve the quality of life for our customers and people worldwide by balancing chemistry and biology through innovation, collaboration, and sustainability across a wide range of specialized industries.

The position will be part of the Global Communication team, reporting directly to the Team Lead of Marketing Communications & Brand Management in Limburgerhof, Germany. It will also be part of the Professional & Specialty Solutions team, with a dotted reporting line to the Vice President of Professional & Specialty Solutions and participation in the global P&SS leadership team. Additionally, the position will work closely with other Global Marketing Communications Managers, the Agricultural Solutions divisional brand champion, and Corporate Communications brand professionals when necessary.

  • Developing multi-year launch plans and marketing communications that are in alignment with global and regional needs, budget, and timelines for new Professional & Specialty Solutions global products, including brand name development, positioning, technical materials, video assets, advertising, major event presence, internal and external communications, etc., with global agencies.
  • Providing leadership, oversight, and consultation with regional and country marketing communications teams on how the active ingredient brands are positioned in the market, ensuring all BASF brand standards are applied, including but not limited to brand development, brand standards, and trademarks, and ensuring all products are marketed in line with the Professional & Specialty Solutions strategic goals.
  • Developing key messages, concise and comprehensive narratives, and storylines for Public Health and Nitrogen Management topics by involving internal and external experts and functions, sharing knowledge on established projects. Ensuring consistency of corporate messaging and streamlined content across all internal and external communication and branding channels.
  • Supporting the VP of Professional & Specialty Solutions and others in communicating the relevant strategic roadmaps internally and externally
  • Active member of the Professional & Specialty Solutions Leadership Team, providing strategic communications consultation and guidance to the global teams on messaging, branding, etc.
  • This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of working 3 days a week in our RTP, NC office.


If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field with a focus on branding and marketing communications.
  • Bring over 10 years of strategic communications experience, with substantial expertise in the agriculture/pest control sector.
  • Have led and managed external agency partnerships to drive impactful communication strategies.
  • Possess a strong track record in developing and executing communication plans and leading branding initiatives for new active ingredients.
  • Demonstrate exceptional writing, editing, and collaboration skills, with the ability to distill complex business and technical information under tight deadlines.
  • Have built and maintained effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including senior executives, cross-functional and cross-regional teams, and external partners.
  • Show proven ability to navigate and succeed within large, matrixed organizations to meet strategic goals.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
