We are looking for a Corporate/Commercial Law Clerk to join our Legal team in Mississauga, ON.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate/Commercial Law Clerk to join our Canadian Legal Team. Reporting to the Compliance and Governance Manager, this role will include corporate governance support for BASF's legal entities in Canada and provide contract and transactional support to the Canadian Legal Team. The successful candidate will work closely with the internal legal and tax team in Canada and the region as well as business stakeholders, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of legal operations across Canada.

As a Corporate/Commercial Law Clerk, you create chemistry by...

  • Providing corporate governance support, including, facilitating board meetings, preparing corporate resolutions, managing business registrations and maintaining corporate records and minute books.
  • Providing commercial legal support, including, performing due diligence and corporate entity searches, drafting and maintaining contract templates, and administering contract management systems.
  • Coordinating with external counsel and internal business and function teams.


If you have...

  • A law clerk diploma from an accredited college.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience, in-house and/or private practice, that includes proficiency with a vast array of corporate/commercial matters, including preparing corporate resolutions, facilitating board meetings, managing business registrations, maintaining corporate records and minute books and administering corporate records management.
  • Excellent communication, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong business acumen; exemplary issue management skills.
  • Considerable skill and ability to handle many projects simultaneously, to manage multiple tight deadlines, and to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in French (not required but considered an asset).
