Job Description:

Following the success of LambEx24 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Twenty8 National Limited (28NL) is excited to invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) for five (5) LambEx Taskforce Members. These members will play a critical role in delivering an inspiring and innovative LambEx26 conference, promoting a profitable, productive, and sustainable sheep and lamb industry supply chain. About The Company:

28NL is a for-purpose company limited by guarantee, governed by a Board of Directors, and serves as the home of LambEx.

 

About LambEx:

Since its inception in 2010, LambEx has become the premier conference for the Australian sheep, lamb and wool industry. Held biennially, the conference attracts over 1,450 attendees from across Australia and internationally. LambEx showcases the industry’s best and provides a rare opportunity for sheep producers and stakeholders from across the production supply chain to connect in a epic three-day event. LambEx26 will build on the success of LambEx24 and will take place once again in South Australia.

 

About The LambEx Taskforce:

The LambEx Taskforce is a newly created sub-committee of the 28NL Board, comprising:

  • One (1) 28NL Director serving as Taskforce Chair
  • Five (5) individual positions selected via this EOI process
  • Up to four (4) local representatives co-opted from the host state/territory

The Taskforce will collaborate with the LambEx Executive Officer (EO) to lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of LambEx26, focusing on developing engaging programs, securing high quality speakers and fostering key partnerships. Taskforce members will play a crucial role in the event’s success!

 

About The Role:

We are seeking up to five (5) individual Taskforce members for a 2-year term, with expertise in areas across the sheep industry including producers, wool growers, processors, researchers, exporters, and business development representatives. Taskforce members will work collaboratively across 4-6 meetings per year, focusing on key areas such as:

Program Curation and Speaker Selection:

  • Develop and curate the conference program, ensuring a diverse and relevant range of topics and sessions.
  • Identify, approach, and secure high-quality speakers who can provide valuable insights and expertise.

Industry Insights and Advice:

  • Gather and provide up-to-date industry insights to inform the conference program and discussions.
  • Ensure the conference addresses current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the sheep supply chain.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders to gather input and feedback.

Partnerships and Sponsorships:

  • Identify potential sponsors and partnerships and provide leads to the Executive Officer.
  • Contribute to the management of sponsor and partner relationships.
  • Host a partner engagement workshop to facilitate discussions, build relationships, and align partnership opportunities with conference objectives.

Post-Conference Review and Evaluation:

  • Participate in a thorough review and evaluation of the conference.
  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the post-conference report with recommendations and knowledge transfer for future conferences.

 

Experience, Skills & Attributes:

To succeed as a LambEx Taskforce member, individual applicants should demonstrate expertise in some of the following areas:

  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the sheep and lamb industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to contribute to program curation, speaker selection, and conference strategy.
  • Partner Management: Experience in identifying, securing, and managing sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication skills to collaborate with industry stakeholders and gather insights.
  • Event Coordination: Familiarity with planning and executing events, including logistics and program management for medium-large conferences.
  • Collaborative Approach: Ability to work effectively within a diverse team with different perspectives and expertise and contribute to collective goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to evaluate the event post-conference, identifying strengths, areas for improvement, and future recommendations.

 

Commitment:

Minimum of four (4) meetings in the 12 months leading up to the conference, with additional meetings as needed.

 

Remuneration:

Taskforce members will receive:

  • $400 per meeting sitting day
  • Reimbursement for reasonable travel, accommodation and meal expenses

 

Appointment Process:

Members will be appointed by the 28NL Board through the EOI process, with a focus on selecting individuals who bring the right mix of skills, experience, and perspectives to the table. We're looking to build a well-rounded taskforce, ensuring diversity across sectors that reflects the breadth of the lamb industry, ensuring no single sector is overrepresented. Each member’s ability to contribute meaningfully to LambEx26’s objectives will be central to the selection process.
