The Senior Benefits Analyst also plays a critical role in supporting annual audits, regulatory filings, and resolving high-level employee concerns.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead testing and maintenance of Workday benefits modules, including new plan setup, integration troubleshooting, and system optimization.

  • Oversee annual enrollment execution-system setup, testing, communications, and process enhancements for a seamless employee experience.
  • Project manage rollout of new benefit plans and programs, from requirements gathering through post-launch support.
  • Maintain compliance with ERISA, COBRA, ACA, Section 125, and applicable state/federal regulations; support ACA reporting and annual ERISA audits.
  • Provide compliance oversight for LOA programs by validating system setup, reporting, and resolving escalated vendor issues (e.g., eligibility, file feeds).
  • Manage time off policies, including state-mandated sick leave; ensure accurate accruals, balances, and compliance reporting within HRIS.
  • Reconcile benefits enrollments and payroll deductions to ensure regulatory and plan document compliance.
  • Serve as primary vendor liaison for troubleshooting file feeds, claims, billing, and eligibility issues.
  • Resolve Tier 3/4 employee escalations and partner cross-functionally to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports on benefit utilization, compliance risks, cost trends, and system performance for leadership.
  • Build tools to support data accuracy, reminders, and deadline tracking; drive system automation and continuous process improvement.
  • Contribute to benefit design decisions using HRIS analytics to support data-driven strategies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (CEBS, SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.
  • 5+ years in benefits administration, with significant experience in HRIS platforms (Workday strongly preferred).
  • Proven knowledge of federal and state benefits laws and regulations (ERISA, COBRA, ACA, Section 125, etc.).
  • Exceptional analytical skills and experience with system integrations, data audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Proficiency in benefits administration and HRIS software, with hands-on expertise in Workday configuration and troubleshooting.

Key Skills
  • Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting, especially within complex HRIS environments.
  • Superior communication, documentation, and presentation abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in audits and reconciliations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and annual enrollment planning.
  • Proficient in using advanced Excel functions and tools to accurately reconcile and compare large datasets, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Strong customer service orientation for resolving complex employee benefit issues.
