General Purpose and Scope of Position:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Supervisor will assist in the planning, coordinating, and directing of day-to-day production operations, including manufacturing, raw material receiving, and product loading. This position will support the Plant Manager in achieving the site's safety, quality, and production goals.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
High School Diploma required, post-secondary education in related field preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of front-line supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with chemical manufacturing preferred
Computer proficiency required, oral and written communication skills
Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, JCB) preferred; possession of an AZ driver's license considered an asset.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
Responsible for the daily supervision of all facility operations personnel, including planning and scheduling of work for all operators, assigning work tasks, and managing employee's vacation and overtime
Provides daily leadership through example, focusing on timely communication, objective feedback, clear work instructions, and coaching for continuous improvement
Coordinates manpower with the production schedule to ensure that training goals, including going safety training and manufacturing cross-training, are met
Ensures that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing adherence to company policies & procedures and leading by example
Performs daily workplace inspections, ensuring health & safety practices and procedures are being followed and that equipment and PPE are being used and in good condition, following up on actions from inspections and audits
Works with the quality department to ensure that all quality goals are being met and assisting in troubleshooting and resolving customer manufacturing complaints
Responsible for ensuring that proper methods and procedures are being used and that quality and production records are maintained according to company policies
Consulted in production schedule development and responsible to safely meet plant production targets, coordinating operator manpower accordingly
Observing and documenting process performance issues, assisting in the development of SOPs to optimize performance and implementing changes
Coordinates with the plant maintenance to ensure that all maintenance is performed safely and in a timely manner, ensuring that permitting and lock-out/tag-out policies are strictly followed
Manage raw material and finished goods inventories, coordinating with dispatch and the Plant Manager to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, production supplies, etc.
May be trained on various processes to function as backup vacation coverage or to assist in providing training in the future
Have general knowledge of the lab. Being able to run PH and gravity tests.
Run inventory reconciliations
Track inbound railcars/empties and raw material cars
All other duties as assigned
Compensation and Benefits:
The base compensation for this position ranges from $75,700 to $106,050 . Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
