General Purpose and Scope of Position:
A Dryer Operator is responsible for the production of raw materials into finished products. They control the raw material mixes and drying parameters to produce a product that meets pre-determined specifications.
You will become part of the Union after 90 days of employment.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
Willingness to operate material handling equipment including a forklift, skid steer, and other equipment as required
Ability to repetitively lift packages up to 50 lb. (or 110lb. with a partner) while working in a non-climate-controlled dusty environment
Good math and organizational skills
Able to follow written and verbal directions and complete the necessary documentation.
Willing to work overtime hours as needed

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
Safely operate dryer and processing equipment (start-up through shutdown)
Accurately control mixture of raw materials to produce in-spec product
Take hourly samples of finished product and conduct NIR test to ensure the product is within guaranteed specification limits
Make necessary adjustments to the mixture if the sample is found to be out of spec
Accurately record hourly drying and raw material parameters in the Dryer Log
Manage yeast inventory and track yeast load usage in production for traceability purposes in Yeast Log
Clean and inspect all magnets in the processing line per "Magnet Program"
Keep dryer room(s) clean and orderly
Take all measures necessary to produce the highest quality product
Follow established policies and procedures
Compensation and Benefits:
The base compensation for this position ranges from $21.44 to $28.63 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
