Role Overview:
A Dispatcher III c oordinates product shipments and transfers between branches and distribution centers as well as assisting in all aspects of customer service including product selection, order processing and inventory management. T o carry out all dispatching tasks associated with operating the manufacturing facility at New Hamburg, Ontario, supervising drivers, and ordering raw materials, in a manner that maximizes profitability.
A Sample of What You'll Do in t his Role:
Fertilizer and industrial order taking - communication via phone, email, confirming orders and expected delivery times with the plant and customer.
Load dispatching - schedule deliveries, communicate with plant reorders, and determine available drivers and equipment.
Daily communication with outside carriers to arrange for drivers, equipment, and deliveries to ON, Eastern Canada, and the USA.
Customs clearance for trucks into both the US and Canada
Monitor compliance with various customs regulations and requirements, including NAFTA, ACE, PAPS, and PARS.
Vehicle service and maintenance decisions (truck and trailer)
Arrange for safety inspections and repairs as needed.
Maintain the customer delivery directions database, and add and update customer information as necessary.
Vehicle permits and special permits - obtain information to apply for wide load permits when required.
Delivery meter systems maintenance
Scale maintenance & calibration - schedule & coordinate for scale repairs with NH Plant and Active Scale
Analyze depot requirements, delivery options, and necessary equipment & tanks.
Coordinate and order raw materials in cooperation with the plant manager and supply manager, arrange for purchase orders, pickup, and delivery of raw materials.
Calculate freight rates and pricing for Ag and Industrial customers, as requested by the sales team and other customers.
Assist with driver training on hire and review, and accompany drivers on delivery once per year.
Approve related bills for accounts payable.
Maintain good communication with the Drivers, Plant Staff, sales personnel, Parts Department, Accounting Department, and the Management Team.
Ensure compliance with all MTO regulations.
What You Bring to t he Role:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written procedures and reports in English.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from other employees, customers, regulatory agencies, suppliers, etc.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical applications.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to sit at a desk or computer terminal to perform writing, and keying/typing information.
High school graduate or equivalent.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base compensation for this position ranges from $23.41 - $31.24 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
