General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Business Analyst role is responsible for critical components of rebate tracking, providing data to support, analysis, collection, and reporting.  Consider language to include all key segments of the organization to include Crop Protection, Fertilizer, Pro Market & Seed Technology.  This strengthens the responsibilities and scope which boasts accountability and attractiveness of the candidate.  This includes monthly internal management reporting, financial analysis, and budgeting.  The Business Analyst is key in managing data and evaluating the financial impact of business decisions and provide support to the Strategy Director in evaluating supplier segmentation and strategy. They will be an integral part of the Business Analytics team and work closely with the Supplier Relations and Procurement teams.

  • Exceptional Excel skills required
  • Experience with MicroStrategy or other data visualization tools a plus
  • Ability to travel (up to 30%)

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of assigned rebate programs, pricing, contracts, reporting, correspondence, and all other aspects of commercial contract administration for all business segments
  • Partner with supplier relations on supplier contracts and rebate statuses
  • Perform business analysis and requirements gathering
  • Review rebate payments to check for errors in data entry, calculation, and accruals
  • Understand contract language and terms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in Accounts Payable, Customer Service, and Finance
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, always maintaining customer focus
  • Compile, maintain, and scan both physical and electronic files
  • Work with procurement and marketing on product cost, negotiations, and analysis
    • Rebate program structures
    • Long / short term agreements
    • Strategic direction and analysis
  • Material balance reconciliations of product movement and location
  • Assist 3rd party with the ongoing implementation of rebates calculation/allocation software tool
  • Liase with 3rd party rebate software vendor and oversee the performance of rebates calculation/allocation software tool
  • Review and reconcile as necessary to ensure accuracy of data in/out of software tool
  • Work with 3rd party contractors on timely communication of list cost changes and rebates
  • Rebate dollar allocation to business segments and locations
  • Assist with periodic forecasting of rebate revenues
  • Provide business analysis to support, develop and execute supplier segmentation and strategy
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
