Role Overview:

The Sales Trainee I works closely with the branch field sales and management teams to learn agronomic and retail agriculture practices, including pest and nutrition management. This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and safety, with growth potential into a Field Sales Representative.

A Sample of What You'll Do in this Role:

 

 

  • Assist customers with proper product selection and use based on agronomic needs.
  • Conduct regular visits to customers' crops to examine and diagnose plant health. Recommend programs that ensure the best quality and yield.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping of recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the team regarding sales territory budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Implement marketing and sales plans; meet sales goals and network with industry representatives.
  • Apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical applications.
  • Communicate with excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills (verbal and written) for interaction with customers and fellow employees.
  • Build product and market knowledge to add understanding and credibility.

 


What You Bring to the Role:

 

 

 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Precision Ag, or associated agricultural sciences is preferred.
  • The ability to travel throughout the territory and attend periodic sales meetings.
  • Proficient with computers, utilizing Microsoft Office and Windows applications.

Compensation and Benefits:

 

 

 

 

  • The base compensation for this position ranges from $20.87 to $27.60 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
  • This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
