General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The role of the Sales Support Specialist is to support the processes and functions of the sales team. The Sales Support Specialist will work with sales staff in locations to scout fields, create maps in AgVerdict, input data like recommendations and orders, and provide-on farm support of grower’s equipment, as well as assist the sales managers and representatives in other duties needed.

Key Personal Attributes Include:

  • Experience utilizing agronomy technology
  • Advanced knowledge of building fertility programs based on field data
  • Basic knowledge of computers and software systems allowing data gathering and tracking on soils, crops, water management, and pests and to help the grower determine his specific precision needs
  • Basic knowledge of all equipment utilized in building a technology program
  • Possess leadership, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

 

 Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Support field scouting, soil sampling, and pest reporting for all assigned growers or fields
  • Accurately input data in an organized and systematic way utilizing all systems with expertise
  • Work closely with the location teams and growers to develop specific farm technology programs, demonstrating site-specific techniques that increase crop production and/or improve crop management. This includes all segments of the Ag Verdict System, mapping, water management, fertility, record keeper, traceability, yield mapping, variable rate fertilizer applications
  • Provide demonstration of the value and profitability of technology at all levels, grower, location, and district
  • Provide the locations data to support the profitability of precision agriculture
  • Conduct training on all aspects of precision agriculture for the location teams
  • Make presentations on Technology to growers, branch teams, and Wilbur-Ellis management
  • Ensure open communication and data sharing and an ability to convey an appropriate sense of urgency with sales representatives, operations, and management as necessary
  • Build strong relationships with co-workers and grower customers
  • Launch the new Ag Verdict Technology system at all levels including all segments of the Ag Verdict System, mapping, water management, fertility, record keeper, traceability, yield mapping, variable rate fertilizer applications
  • Maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of proprietary products and services to support some customer complaints and work to resolve them
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Compensation and Benefits:  

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $49,600 - $66,200.  Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.  This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
