POSITION TITLE: Trade Analyst
REPORTS TO: Director, Trade Analysis

OFFICE LOCATION: Denver, Colorado (Hybrid)
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt
Scope of Responsibilities:
The Trade Analyst serves as an economic and market analyst, supporting USMEF’s efforts in market analysis, forecasting and reporting for global and domestic red meat sectors. The position collaborates closely with USMEF’s domestic and international staff to collect, manage and interpret data, as well as develop reports and presentations.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Collect, categorize and manage economic and market data to support the development of USMEF’s reports and forecasts on domestic and international market conditions for beef, pork, and lamb
• Manage various databases and datasets including monthly export data, weekly export data, PIERS data, and Euromonitor data
• Create and maintain slide decks and visual assets on monthly export statistics
• Summarize key insights from trade and market research reports for staff reference
• Assist with the semi-annual process of revising USMEF’s production, supply, and distribution tables for beef, pork, and lamb in leading export markets
• Support domestic and international staff in developing funding proposal components and corresponding reports
• Update charts and datasets for the USMEF website
• Respond to trade and economic-related requests from USMEF members, affiliates and staff
• Other projects as requested
• Travel as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics, agricultural business, international studies, or a related field required
• Master’s degree in agricultural economics, agricultural business, international studies, or a related field preferred; however, minimum of 2 years’ related work experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree
• Preferred experience in economic or market analysis with an international focus (i.e. course work, internship, etc.)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including using pivot tables, required; experience with APIs and database management desired
• Proficient in all other Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Excellent oral and written communications
• Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to work under minimal day-to-day supervision
• Problem solver that enjoys synthesizing information from datasets and reports
• Ability to set priorities and carry out multiple tasks with flexibility and exceptional attention to detail, plus strong organizational and time-management skills
• Strong interest in public speaking and delivering presentations to diverse audiences
• Agriculture, meat, or related industry experience helpful
• Culturally attuned

Compensation - Per Colorado C.R.S. § 8-5-101, the estimated salary range for this role $75,000-$100,000. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, and abilities of the applicant.
