What your day looks like:

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is ideal for a tax professional with a strong background in passthrough entity taxation (e.g., partnerships, S corporations) and experience managing family office tax matters, including trust and individual tax returns. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of navigating complex tax structures with a high degree of accuracy and discretion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Passthrough Entity Taxation

Coordinate preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for partnerships and S corporations.
  • Analyze K-1s and ensure accurate reporting of passthrough income to partners/shareholders.
  • Maintain compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations affecting passthrough entities.
  • Manage tax planning at the entity level to ensure tax optimization occurs in consideration of other Trust investments and liquidity needs
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors as needed regarding developing short and long-term taxable income projections, quarterly estimates, calculations of book to tax differences, relevant tax elections, and ongoing tax impacts of business development activities.

Family Office & Trust Taxation
  • Coordinate preparation and review individual and fiduciary (trust) income tax returns.
  • Manage tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth individuals and family trusts.
  • Coordinate with estate planning attorneys and financial advisors to ensure tax-efficient strategies.
  • Track and report investment income, charitable contributions, and other relevant financial data.

General Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation.
  • Develop or assist with tax projections, estimated payments, and year-end planning.
  • Advise management, trustees and related stakeholders of the impact of new laws and tax liabilities
  • Prepare and present reports to TWG CFO and Trustees on tax matters and potential liquidity needs
  • Support internal stakeholders with tax-related inquiries and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Masters of Taxation or related degrees (CPA or MST preferred).
  • 5-7 years of relevant tax planning and compliance experience, with a focus on passthrough entities and family office taxation.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, especially as they relate to partnerships, S corps, trusts, and individuals.
