PURCHASING RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Ordering parts/maintenance materials as needed
  • Procurement of parts through vendor contacts
  • Receiving items/parts into the parts room
  • Maintaining inventory in parts rooms
  • Releasing/issuing items/parts and tools from the parts room
  • Performing administrative tasks related to parts room inventory management
  • Develops and maintains spare parts inventory control system including cataloging by equipment, part, and location
  • Reviews receipts and packing slips to ensure new parts are received complete and items are warehoused in appropriate locations
  • May approve invoices for payment upon receipt of goods, based on proper signature approval on PO request
  • Drops off or picks up emergency parts as necessary.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned at all three manufacturing facilities.

SCHEDULING RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Developing and managing detailed maintenance schedules and work orders
  • Coordinating and scheduling all preventive maintenance activities
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance performed, equipment condition, and maintenance costs
  • Working with maintenance supervision and teams to plan and implement equipment modifications and upgrades
  • For new and existing equipment, audit project documentation packages for completeness and create associated preventive maintenance tasks as necessary
  • Works with maintenance management to provide effective asset maintenance scheduling and reporting, implements software upgrades and enhancements, makes recommendations for process improvements, and provides reports on asset maintenance status; maintains systems for prioritizing and scheduling work using MaintainX or other software
  • Review incoming work orders and designate accordingly based on priority and task. Responsible for the entire WO life cycle from start up to completion.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned at all three manufacturing facilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's degree or significant experience in maintenance parts inventory and purchasing.

  • Experience in inventory control of a maintenance shop and parts room.
  • Experience in scheduling work from work orders received as well and using an inventory control system.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proficiency in using maintenance planning and scheduling software
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, and technical and parts manuals
  • Ability to interpret, understand, follow, and communicate instructions
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with little or no supervision
  • Familiarity with maintenance equipment and supplies procurement processes
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • 5 years prior experience in a parts room environment with parts purchasing knowledge
  • Knowledge of the parts purchasing and vendor relationships
  • Knowledge of the parts room in an industrial setting
  • A valid driver's license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)
  • Ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 65 pounds
  • High school diploma or its equivalent; technical school or some college courses preferred
