What your day looks like:
Under the direction of the Director of Processed Meats, manage the planning, coordination and control of all phases of the Harleysville processing facility. Assures the fulfillment all customer orders in a timely, efficient manner. Assist the Production Manager in all aspects of the operation. Must assure department food safety and plant safety is maintained. Must manage the Raw, Packaging, Slicing, Smoking/Cooking and Warehouse Departments and supervisors in Harleysville, PA. Assure product quality and production requirements. Must see that all Leidy guidelines, Leidy SSOP, HAACP, Safety and government regulations are maintained. The Processing manga is expected to spend 90% of the workday on the production floor.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Schedule employees in all areas of responsibility (Sausage, Brine, Smoking/Cooking, Packing, Shipping).
• Ensure machinery is running safely and efficiently and completing work orders in a timely/proactive manner.
· Ensure the quality of all products including maintaining proper temperature of room and product.
· Ensure all products sent to processing is scheduled and signed off. Ensure a clear line of communication with Processing departments and Scheduling departments to fill their production and customer needs and all orders.
· Train all employees regarding SSOP's, rates, quality and efficiencies.
· Train, motivate, enforce and recommend safe attitudes and suggestions. Ensure that employees have the proper tools and PPE to do their jobs.
· Ensure yields and production standards are met daily.
Other Responsibilities: Meet with employees on an ongoing basis to motivate employees to do their best while performing their job. Maintain a positive work relationship with all employees and in particular members of your staff in a management role. Complete necessary paperwork as required by your Manager. Perform all other duties as assigned in accordance with Leidy's, LLC employee handbook and safety rules and regulations and all applicable laws and standards.

Who Are You:
Associates Degree or 5 years in meat industry or similar experience. Food or Meat industry experience is a plus. Ability to work in a cold/wet environment and with a very diverse workforce. Excellent written/verbal communication/presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to function at a high level within a team environment. Ability to work independently and with individuals from multiple disciplines and with varying levels of experience. Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture. Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills a plus. Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail. Bilingual, English and Spanish, a plus.
